FUNDING EXTENSION & REFORM HEARING DELAYED

Legislature Weighs Options

FEBRUARY 5, 2010: The Joint Committee on Public Service will not hear testimony on Monday, February 8, on bills recently filed by Governor Deval Patrick.  Committee members are now reviewing  the proposals, which allow for extension of local pension funding schedules and further reform the state’s public retirement law.

A hearing will take place on Monday, where a variety of late file bills will be heard, including a bill submitted by MACRS that allows for local funding schedules to be extended. HB4124 is sponsored on behalf of MACRS by Representative Kate Hogan (D-Stow).
